- We / Us / Our: iPhotography — the operator of Our Site.

Some data is collected automatically when you use Our Site. Other data is collected only when you submit it voluntarily — for example, when you create an account, complete a course, or buy a product.

05. How we use your data
5.1All personal data is stored and used in line with the UK GDPR (and, where applicable, Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

- Providing and managing your iPhotography account
- Giving you access to Our Site and the courses you've signed up for
- Personalising your experience inside the learning portal
- Supplying products and services you've ordered
- Responding to messages you send us
- Sending the email updates you've subscribed to — newsletters, alerts, course notifications, results, members' content
- Market research and improving Our Site
5.2.7You can unsubscribe from any email subscription using the unsubscribe link in the email, or by updating the preferences in your account profile.
5.3Some of the data we collect is required by law (statutory or contractual). Where that's the case, we'll make it clear at the point of collection.
5.4With your permission, we may contact you by email, text or post with marketing communications. All marketing is fully compliant with the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.
06. How & where we store your data
6.1We retain your data only for as long as we have your permission, and only for as long as is necessary for the purposes it was collected.
6.2Your data may be stored or transferred outside the European Economic Area (the EEA — EU member states plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). By using Our Site, you consent to this transfer.
6.3We use physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect your data and prevent loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

- Passwords are stored using one-way encryption.

7.2Where we use external services to deliver products and services to you, only aggregated, anonymised data is passed on. Payment card details are encrypted and held by Braintree (a PayPal subsidiary) for billing purposes — we recommend you also review PayPal's Privacy Policy.
7.3Anonymised site usage statistics may be shared with investors, affiliates, partners and advertisers in line with the law.
7.4We will share data when required to do so by law — for example, in connection with legal proceedings, legislation, a court order, or a request from a government authority — without seeking your further consent.
08. If our business changes hands
8.1We may, from time to time, expand or reduce our business. This may involve the sale and/or transfer of parts of iPhotography. Any personal data you've provided will, where it's relevant to the part of the business being transferred, be transferred along with that part for the original collection purposes.
8.2You will not be notified individually in advance of any such transfer.
09. How you control your data
9.1You have options to restrict how we use your data. Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link — one click is all it takes.
9.2You can also register with the UK's preference services to prevent unsolicited marketing — the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS), and Mailing Preference Service (MPS). Note that these services do not block communications you've already consented to.
10. Withholding & withdrawing
10.1Some areas of Our Site are usable without giving us any personal information. To access the full features — courses, gallery, member dashboard — you do need to submit certain data.
10.2You can restrict your browser's use of cookies at any time (see Section 12). You can also withdraw your consent for any data use described in Section 5 by contacting us — your data will be deleted from our systems. Note that withdrawal of consent may make it impossible for us to continue providing some or all of our services to you.
11. How to access your data
You have the legal right to ask for a copy of any personal data we hold about you (a Subject Access Request). Email [email protected] — we'll respond within the timeframes set by the UK GDPR.
12. Cookies — what we use & why
12.1First-party cookies are placed on your device directly by us. They help us improve Our Site and the experience we deliver.
12.2Third-party cookies are placed by external services we use for analytics, advertising and business purposes. These cookies are not integral to the functioning of Our Site.
12.3All cookies are used in line with English and EU Cookie Law.
12.4Where consent is required, it will be requested before any cookies are placed on your device.
12.5Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent under the regulations. You can still disable them via your browser settings, but doing so may stop parts of the site working properly.
12.6We use Google Analytics to understand how Our Site is used so we can keep improving it.

13.3Right to erasure ("the right to be forgotten") — ask us to delete the data we hold.
13.4Right to restrict processing — ask us to pause or limit how we use your data.
13.5Right to data portability — ask for your data in a format you can move elsewhere.
13.6Right to object — tell us not to process your data in certain ways (for example, for direct marketing).
