Rachel Sinclair

Hi, I’m Rachel — your guide through the iPhotography Wildlife Course.

Since 2007, I’ve photographed animals big and small across the globe — from family pets to wild predators on Kenya’s vast savannahs. I’ve led photographic safaris across East Africa’s most iconic locations and hosted workshops back home in the UK, helping amateur photographers gain confidence in the field.

Wildlife photography isn’t just about the shot — it’s about telling powerful stories, encouraging conservation, and inspiring others to care more deeply about the natural world.

That’s why I created this course: to help you capture meaningful images, wherever you are, with gear you already own — and to enjoy every moment of the adventure.

A Certified Course You Can Be Proud Of

When you complete this course, you’ll receive a CPD-accredited certificate—a real, recognised qualification that proves you’ve taken the time to invest in your creativity. It’s not just a nice bonus. It’s something you can share, print, frame, or use to mark your progress.

Even though this is an online course, it’s structured, high-quality training backed by over a decade of experience and trusted by thousands of students around the world. This is photography education that respects your time—and your potential.

Wildlife Photography Challenges with Tutor Feedback

Put your new skills into action with hands-on wildlife photo assignments, personally reviewed by professional iPhotography tutors. These simple step-by-step challenges are designed to help you build confidence, sharpen your technique, and elevate your wildlife shots to portfolio standard.

Pocket-Sized Wildlife Flip Cards (Free P&P)

You’ll receive a rugged set of printed wildlife cheat cards in the post, packed with go-to tips, settings, shortcuts and camera advice. Designed to be weatherproof and easy to carry, they’re your quick-access toolkit when shooting out in the wild.

Plan Better, Shoot Smarter

Learn how to prepare like a pro. From choosing the right wildlife locations to understanding animal behaviour and seasonal changes, this module teaches you how to research, plan, and execute unforgettable wildlife shoots — whether you’re in Africa or your local reserve.

Master Native Wildlife & Bird Photography

From tracking horses in natural light to freezing birds in flight, this section shows you how to photograph native UK wildlife with purpose. You’ll take on a personal project, receive expert feedback, and learn how to capture stunning images in a variety of natural habitats.

Thank you so much for your support in helping me not only learn my camera as I start this new venture (I am really new at this). Without this encouragement and support, I don't think I would have seen my photo here. I aspire to take such beautiful photos as so many of you.

I joined iPhotography around 8 years ago. From that time I think I am very fortun (seems to be a typo, probably meant "fortunate”) to be a member of iPhotography. I learned so many things from that time, which helped me to become a better photographer and get many international awards.

I have started the Landscape course and surprised what good value for money it is and how much I learn in each module, plenty of examples and not too lengthy for busy people. Love the encouragement feedback from iPhotography community members and sharing images. Makes courses that are on-line feel face-face. Competitions keep me encouraged to practice more.

I’ve done loads of landscape photos for people before... done postcards and photos etc so didn’t expect to panic as much as I just did when someone asked me to photograph their dog 😂 Good job I’ve done that section of the portrait course... it was weird because all the prep stuff just came out of my mouth like second nature... we need to set up a call and chat about location, the kind of shots you want any props you want to use, time of day and all that...! I’ll likely realise I’ve missed something at some point but thank you iPhotography because I’d never have rattled all that off as easy before I did the course... if at all!!

Really wanted to catch the black and white webinar live today but didn’t make it home in time. I just watched it and there's some great info. I'm always confused on what makes a good blackand white shot. This really helped, thanks!

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The iPhotography Wildlife Course assumes no prior knowledge of wildlife photography. You’ll discover everything you need to capture pin-sharp shots of any animal.

In the first few lessons, you’ll learn about the camera equipment you need (and what you don’t need). Then, you’ll progress to understanding which settings to use with detailed instructions for when, where, how and why you should use them.

The iPhotography Wildlife Course has been designed for beginners and amateurs who are interested in learning wildlife photography.

But whatever level you are currently at, this comprehensive online wildlife photography course will help you to capture significantly better wildlife photographs. Even if you are an experienced photographer, you will benefit from Rachel’s vast knowledge and experience in the specific field of wildlife photography.

iPhotography’s Wildlife Photography Course was filmed around the UK, using the diverse range of locations and wildlife we have here.

We filmed some of the more exotic animals in carefully selected conservation-focused Zoos, including Chester Zoo, consistently rated as one of Europe’s Top Ten zoos.

This wildlife photography course was filmed in the UK, but the techniques you’ll learn can be applied to almost any country and across a diverse range of wildlife.

So, whether you live in the USA, Australia, South Africa… Rachel has specifically selected the animals and photographic techniques that can be applied to almost any location and situation.

You will not only learn the technical aspects of wildlife photography, but you’ll gain a deep understanding of animal behaviour and how to capture the very best shots regardless of where you are or what’s in front of you.

Wildlife photography is quite different to other genres of photography in that you’re often dealing with different surroundings and a very unpredictable subject!

Rachel has mentored many photographers who were already experienced in portraits, weddings, landscapes etc. but knew very little about wildlife photography. This is a course that everyone can learn from.

Nope! While a DSLR or mirrorless camera can help, this course is built to improve your wildlife photography skills no matter what gear you’re using—even if it’s a zoom lens on a smartphone.

Not at all. This course is perfect for beginners and hobbyists. You’ll be guided step-by-step through camera settings, subject tracking, and how to shoot wildlife in both zoos and the wild.

Absolutely. You get lifetime access, so you can pause, replay, and complete the lessons whenever it suits you—whether that’s in a weekend or over several months.

Yes! You’ll have access to expert tutor feedback, plus the ability to submit assignments and get help inside our exclusive iPhotography members photo feedback gallery.
